Hello reader, I’m Katie, I’m 23 and live in Warrington, North West England. I decided to start this blog after the 2019 general election, I was living at home, I graduated from university in June and had become recently unemployed after quitting a sales job.
I’ve always loved politics, the first election I could vote in I researched all the manifestos and concluded that Labour was my party and that has never wavered (probably heavily influenced by my Scouse dad and south London mum). This election I had the time to fully immerse myself in the run up, I read Labour’s manifesto, I read the Tories’ ‘pamphlet’ and started to become obsessed with politics and lived in my lefty twitter bubble. I’ve always loved to research, from creating holiday itineraries, about a film I’ve recently watched, or just general Facebook stalking! So I researched into the election and learnt about the devastation that 10 years of Tory cuts have had on people. I did some fact checking on statistics of homelessness and food banks etc, then thought ok I’m writing something. So I wrote a little post popped it on Facebook and Twitter and got told by a few people that I should start a blog. I was lucky enough to get the chance to write one when I lived in Copenhagen for the University of Glasgow so I thought I’d try one again. Mainly I think it will be full of my random thoughts, probably politics, maybe gluten free things and history. But any suggestions are welcome.
